Obituary
BORG. On October 6, JOSEPH (Żundajru), widower of Spira, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Connie and Victor, Emmanuel and Josephine, Raymond and Dorothy, Carmel and Marica, Helen and Joseph, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, his sisters Tereża and Reno, Agnes of America, Helen and Charles of Canada and their families, his wife’s brother Mgr. Bishop Adeodato Micallef O.C.D and friends. The funeral will take place today at 2.30 p.m. at St Therese Sanctuary in Birkirkara. The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Messina, Rabat and Dr Anthony Gatt for their care and kindness. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
CALLEJA. On October 4, CHARLES, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Rita, his children Joseph, Maria and Anthony, his brother Louis and his wife Mary, his brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on October 9 at 1.30 p.m. for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital and the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SAMMUT. On October 6, at St Vincent de Paul residence, JOSEPHINE of San Ġwann, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Charles and his wife Antoinette, Marianne and her husband Alphonse Saliba, Marthese and her husband Tony Micallef and Rose and her husband David Axisa, her grandchildren and great-grandchild, her brother and sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 1.30 p.m. for San Ġwann parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
Requiem Mass
On the trigesima die of the death of MAUD BIANCHI, widow of Dr Marcel Bianchi, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at St Patrick’s church, Sliema.

Sliema Bazaar
A bazaar is being held next door to Stella Maris parish centre, 49, Cathedral Street, Sliema, from today to October 10. Open all day from 9.30 a.m.
NGO Commission Website
The public can keep abreast of voluntary sector developments, initiatives and opportunities on a website launched by the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations.
The site, www.voluntaryorganisations.gov.mt, includes a list of organisations registered with the office so the public can verify whether they are legally compliant.
It also includes several features of interest to the organisations themselves, including benefits, official documents, legislation and information on registering with the authority.
The office said it was planning to develop the site further and add more information, including a frequently asked questions section.

Russian Choir
St Paul’s Bay local council will be presenting a concert by the Combined Russian Choir at the Qawra parish church on Saturday at 7.45 p.m. The public is invited to attend and be seated by 7.30 p.m.
