Mail in stolen car
The postal authorities are looking into the theft last week of a postman's private car which contained mail.
The white Kia Mentor belonged to a 30-year-old woman who was delivering mail when it was stolen, sources said.
The car, they said, was parked in Paderborn Street, St Paul's Bay, and the postal worker only realised it was missing when she returned to it shortly before noon.
Maltapost, the national service provider, said it was looking into the theft, which is being investigated by the Mosta district police under the supervision of Inspector Edmond Cuschieri.

the woman used her private car to do her job and the usual experts on this site are commenting. leave her alone. she is in enough shock as it is. her car was stolen while she was using it for work!!! how about writing against the people who actually stole the car instead of against her!!!???

D Vella...Postal operators are encouraged to use their own vehicles by the comapany, and actually, are paid to do so.
You also should note that all Postal operators are bound by a solemn oath taken at the law courts uopn appointment, and as such should be trusted with mail wheter in a private car or not!!
N Calleja, I guess you would look really smart after walking for 5 hrs in the blistering heat.
As for age, are you suggesting that Maltapost should discriminate against youngsters when they apply for jobs?

Very irresponsable of the postwoman to leave the mail in her private car!! Nowadays these post deliverers look extremely shabby and rugged. Most of them are very young and with a couldn't careless attitude. Gone are the days when the same postmen were regular in the same street, very smart and greatly responsable towards their sensitive duty.
