Wonderful evening for the elderly

It was last mid August when the Safari Camping Club of Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq invited elderly from St Vincent de Paul Resident and the Żejtun day centre for the elderly. It was a night I'll never forget.

The committee of the Safari Camping Club welcomed all the elderly with a warm smile and with the carers they carefully carried all the wheelchair cases. The event took place near the administration block in front of the sea.

They prepared music of our time, and believe me we felt like teenagers dancing and having a good time.

Delicious food was also sponsored for us. To add to the unforgettable night, the committee also treated us with packed goodies.

I want to thank them for a wonderful evening and wish that there will be more in the future.

I also want to thank the officer in charge of the Żejtun day centre, Rita Ellul, for oganising such events that we will keep with us forever.

I am 80 years old and have been a member of Żejtun day centre for the past eight years.

Now I'm a resident at the Żejtun home but still a member of the day centre where I feel loved, young, active and still needed in society.
