A record 7,500 enjoyed the splendour of St John's Co-Cathedral during Notte Bianca last Saturday, the St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation said today.

The number of visitors last year had reached 6,000, up from 5,000 the previous year.

"This is a clear indication of the awareness of the importance of this unique monument amongst the Maltese people," the foundation said.

Meanwhile, Heritage Malta said attendance was also high at its museums in Valletta. A total of 15,000 toured the five sites administered by the agency, the most popular being the Palace and the newly refurbished War Museum.
