Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino recently planted trees bought using funds raised by the Grand Hotel Excelsior's staff.

This was part of Excelsior's second anniversary initiatives to commemorate the 5-star Floriana hotel's launch in September 2007, as well as forming part of the new Green Activities Day initiative established by the hotel. Green Activities Day has been devised to raise awareness of green issues and solutions with children of Excelsior's staff members.

As well as the trees planted next to the Excelsior's pool area, more trees, again donated by Excelsior staff, are to be planted on National Tree-Planting Day in November.
