Tens of thousands of people saw the capital city in a different light last night as Notte Bianca injected Valletta with colour, culture and brisk business.

Valletta's museums, churches and historical buildings opened their doors last night allowing thousands to explore the city. Shops and restaurants capitalised on the event and opened their doors.

Valletta was transformed into a feast for the senses with restaurants, lights and music spilling out onto the streets and a different event or theme at almost every corner.

While walking down the streets, decorated with festive banners and lit up to the full, one could listen to Maltese bands, choirs and concerts while sampling food from the different food stalls.

People also had the chance to travel back in time and watch never-seen before footage of Malta during the war.

Museums also aired their usually quiet and dark rooms yesterday, blazing with light and buzzing with people and remained open for free until this morning.

Six events had been at risk of being cancelled after two lighting and sound companies requested a court order to stop the Notte Bianca organisers from issuing tenders. However, the request was dismissed by the court.
