Computer Domain, the ICT training organisation, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art training facility at its new premises in Mosta's Constitution Street.

Nick Callus, Computer Domain Managing Director, said that the company delivers ICT and business education including international certification programmes and diplomas such as the First Diploma, the National Diploma and the Higher National Diploma in partnership with Edexcel (BTEC). All are recognised and aligned with the European Qualifications Framework. Undergraduate degrees and post-graduate programmes are provided through the sister organisation, International Institute of Studies, in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire. These degrees also qualify for MGSS and STEPS government schemes.

The new facility was opened by President George Abela. Special guests at the ceremony included Microsoft country manager Pierre Mallia, Edexcel's Eddie Connor, the University of Hertfordshire's Mariette Berkhout and Mariana Lilley, and Computer Domain's business partners in India Sandhu Sukhvinder and Barbir Singh.

Computer Domain was established in 1996, then offering evening ICT training courses. In 2000, the school began to operate full time thanks to its affiliation with worldwide ICT organisations. Today, Computer Domain also operates two centres in Cyprus.

Managing director Nick Callus said that over the past decade, the company continued to invest substantially to be able to offer higher standards of training. The new facility offers a technologically advanced learning environment equipped with corporate network, WiFi facilities, new computers, large screen projectors in every classroom, and full accessibility for disabled students, besides a study area and library and underground parking.

Computer Domain's current staff complement is mainly made up of full time lecturing, administration and technical support staff. The students are from Malta, many EU countries and non-EU countries. The company also operates its own residence accommodation for foreign students.

Next year Computer Domain will continue to expand and plans to inaugurate a new annex.
