Obituary

CASSAR. On September 28, in Medina, Ohio, US, MARIE ANTOINETTE, aged 67, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved sons and their wives, Simon and Melissa, Bernard and Courtney, Daniel and Kristen, Matthew and Lauren, their father Sonny Cesareo, her seven grandchildren, her brothers and sisters Mary Ann, Emanuel and his wife Gladys, Carmen Desira, Michael and his wife Rosalyn, Joseph and his wife Tanja, Victoria and her husband George Muscat, their respective families, and other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held in Ohio, today. A memorial Mass will be held today at 4 p.m. at Ta' Fatima parish church, Guardamangia. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MIZZI. On October 2, VICTOR, of Valletta, aged 88, passed away peacefully at Msida Home. He leaves to mourn his loss Iris and her family, Beatrice, Mary Lynn and Winnie, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Ta' Fatima parish church, Guardamangia where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SCICLUNA. On October 1, under tragic circumstances, ĠUŻEPPI (Foreman Scicluna), of Luqa, widower of Andreana, aged 84, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children John and his wife Josette, Anthony and his wife Antonia, Carmel and his wife Carmen, Miriam and Andrew, his brother Michael, his sisters-in-law, his wife's sister Olga, his grandchildren Christine, Tania, Steve, Robert, Andre, Maria, Jeremy, and Rowena, his great-grandson Jake, numerous relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Andrew's parish church, Luqa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Luqa cemetery. Donations to the Siġġiewi Homes will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VELLA - GUIDO. Today the 20th anniversary of his demise. Treasured and unfading memories. His son John and his daughter Monica Pace Gouder. Today's 6.30 p.m. Mass at Balluta parish church, St Julians, will be offered for the repose of his soul.

ZAMMIT TABONA. In loving memory of ANNE, today the 19th anniversary of her death. Happy memories always. Her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On trail of olive oil

Heritage Malta is organising a Heritage Trail focusing on the production of olive oil in Malta. It will be held on October 17 and leaves at 9 a.m. from in front of the Phoenicia Hotel. Tickets can be obtained from the Heritage Malta head office in Merchants Street, Valletta. Call 2295 4312.

Gozo to Notte Bianca

Gozo Channel Ltd will be providing an additional trip tonight especially for Notte Bianca, leaving Mġarr at 2.15 a.m. and departing from Ċirkewwa at 3 a.m.

Hands-on day at respite home

Rotary Club Malta will today hold its first Hands-On Day for Dar il-Kaptan, the respite home for persons with disability that the club has been instrumental in setting up and supporting over the years. The objective is to get Rotarians, their friends and families to lend a hand with gardening, painting and general maintenance jobs, while having fun to the sounds of a DJ. The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Those who cannot attend can send donations to Rotary Club Malta, 1 Don Rua Street, Sliema, to cover some of the costs of materials. The event is being organised in collaboration with Rotaract Club Malta and Rotary Club La Vallette.
