MCA welcomes charges removal

The Malta Communications Authority (MCA) has expressed its satisfaction at the removal of the top-up charge on prepaid vouchers by Melita Mobile, Vodafone and GO plc.

It also welcomes the further reduction by Redtouch Fone of its voice and sms rates charged in respect of international roaming.

These developments, it said, were brought about after intervention from the MCA’s part to ensure that the European Union’s revised roaming regulation was implemented in Malta in its entirety.

These developments would result in significant benefits to consumers and would also make it easier for consumers to know how much they were spending on their mobile telephony service.
