October 6, 21st eBSN workshop on eBusiness Implementation For SMEs: Shifting the Gear From Policy Dialogue To Actions

October 15-16, DG ECFIN’s 6th Annual Research Conference

The 2009 research conference organised by DG ECFIN will bring together economists and policymakers to discuss three interrelated key issues relevant to fundamental economic thinking on the current crisis and the lessons that can be drawn from it. The conference will seek insights into the interplay between political and economic issues in the reform process, the pros and cons of proposals for reforming financial systems in the light of lessons from the current crisis, and the challenges that the crisis is posing to classical economic thinking on market behaviour. October 29, Conference ICT and e-Business for an Innovative and Sustainable Economy.

The 2009 Conference of the Sectoral e-Business Watch, a programme of DG Enterprise and Industry, will take place on October 29 at Hotel Bloom, Brussels. This conference focuses on the economic impact of ICT on innovation and environmental sustainability as well as on resulting implications for competitiveness and policy. The main theme of the morning sessions is ICT and Sustainability, while the main theme of the afternoon is ICT and Industrial Policy. The conference brings together professionals who face these issues in their work. This is the sixth e-Business Watch Conference since the first one organised in 2002. The conference regularly attracts more than 100 experts from policy, business and business associations, research and consultancy.
