Crimsonwing (Malta) Ltd recently completed the roll out of Microsoft’s Navision accounting system in the retail and wholesale business of the Allied Group.
The two major companies within the Allied Group, Allied Newspapers Ltd and Progress Press Ltd, were already using Navision as implemented by a UK supplier, but in the past year, have also turned to Crimsonwing for their requirements in this area. Plans exist to continue transferring onto Navision the related remaining sections of business that have still not been tackled.
Crimsonwing is a Microsoft gold certified partner with years of international experience in the implementation and enhancement of the two Microsoft ERP systems: Navision and Axapta. One of the areas where Crimsonwing has specialised is printing. This helped to make it the perfect match for the Allied Group locally. Crimsonwing has been expanding its sales of these products to the Maltese market for over a year and has implemented these systems at a number of local companies.
The services that Crimsonwing has provided to the Allied Group are not restricted to implementation but also include support of and enhancements to the current systems as well as training on the vast number of features provided by the software. Special emphasis was made on enhancements specifically designed for the finance and distribution departments.
The decision to bring all sections within the group onto the Navision platform gives these companies a number of benefits including a common IT platform for the various subsidiaries within the group, greater ease when preparing consolidated accounts and reports across the group, streamlined support from a single supplier for one industry standard product and greater staff flexibility across the group since they find the same software.
“We needed a system that can grow with us for many years to come and we have selected Microsoft Dynamics NAV for its scalability and ability to be tailored to fit our requirements. We partnered with Crimsonwing for their implementation experience with dynamics and also for their industry expertise,” said Lawrence Muscat, Allied Newspapers Group Financial Controller.
“Crimsonwing’s expertise, acquired through more than 10 years of providing IT solutions helps us understand the needs of organisations like the Allied Newspapers Group,” said Stephen Abela, project manager.
“We are very pleased with the way Allied Newspapers have learned how to use Dynamics NAV to its full potential and we look forward to new NAV projects that will further support the growth of this business.”
Microsoft Navision is a complete package that handles finance, stock (including warehousing), production (manufacturing), customer relationship management, service management, purchases and sales.
Founded in 1996 Crimsonwing’s customer solutions have won many awards including Solution Provider of the Year and National Business Awards.
