Djibril Cisse's three-match European suspension was reduced to a two-game ban by UEFA yesterday following an appeal by his club Panathinaikos.

The appeal resulted in the ban for the third match being suspended for one year and will apply should the French striker receive another yellow card during this period.

Cisse, 28, had received a straight red card for a clumsy foul during Panathinaikos's Champions League play-off, second leg against Atletico Madrid on August 25.

He will now be eligible for the club's third Europa League Group F match against Sturm Graz in Athens on October 22.
