Great work Austin! We are with you in this one.
I think the above two lines were the silliest comment on this blog! "Great work" ... come on! Iddahhaqniex. We saved only a few cents and you call that great work!

@Hildbrand Bianco - Where did you get the 15 times in the last months from. In June it went up to €1.14 from 99c and since then, it went down by 1c and now 2c to €1.11. It's not much but in Germany it's at €1.37 and Holland I saw it at €1.46 at this very moment. Granted that these countries have better wages than us, but when buying oil, the price does not differ between a country and another. Even worse, we have to ship it and that's an extra expense. Don't you think that we all would like to have it cheaper, but one has to keep in mind the crisis is all over the world and not just in Malta. I often go to Germany and Holland and even over there you hear grumblings about how their wages do not last, how expensive the fuel is, how their rents are half their wages (not many have their own property there) and the high percentage of tax that they pay. My wife's family is from Germany and when they are over they compare prices and find that in certain cases we are cheaper and in others dearer.

@HIldbrand Bianco
I know many energetic and enthusiastic people but not all of them are capable of delivering the goods. On the contrary, most don't. Why? Because they fail to see the whole picture. Furthermore, many people can perform the impossible, but only God can perform miracles. If you want cheaper fuel prices with oil prices hovering at $70, what you need is a miracle not Joseph Muscat.

"In Malta we have least wages, and highest taxes."
Well, no, both are more or less average for the EU. I used to earn a lot more in the Netherlands, but the tax rate (the percentage I paid) was also considerably higher. All in all, that still meant more cash in hand, but given the short distances in Malta, I only pay like €40 to €50 every three weeks in petrol. In contrast, when I visited a friend in the Netherlands from my parents' place, fuel alone was €15.
If you were to complain about how our tax money is spent, though, you won't hear me disagree with you.

They are dropping Mizzi.
In Italy they dropped the price of gas as from 1/10/09 and it was on the news.
NO thanks to Gonzi-Gatt because we have been robbed and continue to be robbed by this arrogant and grossly incompetent government.

I only use Unleaded petrol and according to the schedule, it went down by €0.020 which means that if I have to convert this change in price into the previous Maltese currency (0.43c) = Lm0.0086. Is this a change in the fuel prices when the cost of living, bills etc are rising much higher than that?

On a full fuel tank (say 50 litres) it will make €1 less! Assuming a full tank lasts 2 weeks, you are going to save €2 on fuel in a month! What a saving!! With that you can buy 2 packets of pasta, or a bar of chocolate or threat yourself with an extra beer (a MONTH).
But when it goes up, it goes up by 14cents meaning on 50litres u will end up paying €14 more a MONTH. Alone it is half of the COLA dear PM! And we are not talking about electricity and water surcharges yet!!!!

During the past 4 months international oil price was in the region of USD65 to 72 a barrel.
So how come fuel prices decreased instead of remaining the same.!! I am not complaining but it increased about 15c a litre and now dropped by 2c a ltr. something is a miss.

We should say thank you Austin Gatt?????? Of course NO.
If I am not mistaken, please correct me, over the last months, the price of fuels went up about 15 times for sure, and went down only 3 or 4 times (only by 2cents or 3 cents).
One time only, I think it was in April 2009, the price of petrol went up in ONCE, 15 euro cents per litre.
Shame on this incompetent government.
In Malta we have least wages, and highest taxes.
Shame Gonzi PN.
We are not going to vote for you in the next election.
This time we are going to trust PL and the energetic Joseph Muscat.

Budget is near so every prices goes down, so does the COLA. This is happening at every Budget. Then in between Budgets prices go up and up, so shops make enough profit. When things are organized before hand then people are suffering. Mr Gatt, have you investigated
the weight of the two Kg missing from the Gas Bottles. This year i am donating you e21 as a present , or should all households go to LP to ask for reimbursement same as the cars history
