A man who broke another man’s nose during an argument was this morning given a suspended sentence.

Jason Craske, a 38-year-old British national living in Gharghur, admitted to injuring James Lawson Kelly during an argument at a pub in Bugibba on September 21.

Mr Craske, who broke Mr Kelly’s nose during the argument, apologised and cooperated with the police.

He was jailed for six months suspended for two years.

In a separate case, a 49-year-old man from Kalkara, Joseph Compagno, was this morning granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 after pleading not guilty to threatening a man with a knife at the offices of United Automobiles in Lija.

He was also charged with assault, breaching the peace and carrying a knife without license.
