Sneijder: Midfielder Wesley Sneijder will miss Inter's visit to Rubin Kazan in the Champions League tomorrow after failing to recover from a hip injury. The injury also kept the Dutchman out of Inter's 1-0 defeat at Sampdoria in Serie A on Saturday. Inter held European champions Barcelona to a goalless draw in their opening Group F game, while Russian side Rubin lost 3-1 at Dynamo Kiev.
Barca duo: Barcelona's Ukrainian defender Dmytro Chygrynskiy will be out for three weeks after straining a knee ligament. Chygrynskiy was already ineligible for tomorrow's Champions League visit of Dynamo Kiev because he appeared for Shakhtar Donetsk in the qualifying stage. France striker Thierry Henry is a doubt after tests showed he had damaged a thigh muscle.
Boruc: Artur Boruc has revealed he would consider signing a new contract at Celtic. Boruc, who last week was omitted from the Poland squad for the World Cup double-header with the Czech Republic and Slovakia, still has almost two years left on his existing deal. "It is a great club to play for. I am still really enjoying it."
German Cup: Bayern Munich must travel to Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt in the third round of the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup. Holders Werder Bremen were given a home draw against second division high-flyers Kaiserslautern, who knocked Bayer Leverkusen out in the last round.
Tennis: World number one Roger Federer has withdrawn from next month's Japan Open and Shanghai Masters in order to get some rest.
