Badly injured in Birkirkara collision

A 63-year-old man was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Birkirkara yesterday afternoon.

The man, who lives in Birkirkara, was driving a white Renault 205 and was turning into Ganu Street when it was involved in a collision with a Mazda 323 driven by a 26-year-old man, also from Birkirkara. The Mazda was heading towards Mosta.

Civil Protection Department personnel were called in to extract the unconscious man from the Renault. A female passenger was not injured.

The driver of the Mazda and his three male passengers were not hurt.
