Music for all tastes at Notte Bianca

There will be a whole range of musical events this Saturday night as part of Notte Bianca in Valletta, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts said.

There will be many unplugged music sessions at the Upper Barrakka Gardens by Mutley, Ozzy Lino, Klinsmann, Indigo, Eve Ransom, Ben and Phil , and Chasing Pandora starting at 18.00. Muzzle will perform at The President's Palace Courtyard, St Georges Square. At Palazzo Ferreria (Ministry for Social Policy), Republic Street there will be the band Quicksand, whereas Skimmed will be at the Mattia Preti Square.

Notte Bianca will also have some foreign acts such as Netnakisum invited in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy, performing at the President's Palace Courtyard - St Georges Square.

Tetraktis Percussioni from Italy together with the Maltese Sarsaza Percussion Ensembles will engage the listeners at St Sebastian Street. The Schunke Ensemble will perform at 22.30hrs at Republic Square (The Café Premiere Concerts) and 2inJoy will be in Freedom Square at 21.45 hrs. These two German bands are participating in Notte Bianca through the collaboration with the German Embassy.

Band music lovers are in for a treat with a record number of bands performing in the streets of Valletta till the early hours of Sunday morning .

People who prefer classic music will surely relish the chamber concert by Veronique Vella at the Casino Maltese in Republic Street and the Cosmos Wind Ensemble at the President's Palace Courtyard, St George's Square. Ruben Zahra will take us on a musical journey by performing both classical and contemporary music.

There will also be many pop, rock and alternative music bands including Airport Impressions, Scar, Rifffs, Skimmed, Rooftop , Enkor Choir and St Paul's Choral Society are also participating in Notte Bianca. There will also be folk music by the Astra Folk Group and Aurora Folk Group. These are just a few of the many talented musicians who will be performing on the night.
