Driver seriously injured in car crash
A middle-aged man was seriously injured in a collision between two cars in Birkirkara, this afternoon.
The man was in a white Peugeot 205 which was turning on the busy road when it was involved in a collision with a Mazda 323 near the old windmill.
Rescuers from the Civil Protection Department had to cut and remove the top of the Peugeot to lift the unconscious man from behind the steering wheel. He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. A woman who was with him was not injured. Neither was the driver of the Mazda.
