Thirty-five years seem like the Middle Ages to a bunch of 16-year-olds but to a group of 50 former St Mary Grammar School students, it was more a blink of an eye. Plans for a reunion of 1974 girls had been going on for a long time - hours spent combing the directory and tracing addresses and phone numbers, even of those who no longer lived in Malta. The girls started off with Mass at St Anthony's church in Mgarr, celebrated by Fr Mario Borg, followed by a reception at the Country Terrace, where the girls sat down in two long rows facing each other. Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, one of the girls, then cut a cake to round off the happy event.
