The Malta Institute of Management (MIM) is organising a corporate governance seminar on Friday at the Radisson SAS Baypoint in St Julian's between 8.30 a.m. and 1.15 p.m.
The seminar, entitled 'Good governance after global financial crisis', attracts high-quality speakers and delegates, including MIM chairman Reuben Buttigieg, Kenneth Farrugia, Julia Casson, Marlene Mizzi, Simon Osbourne and John Grech.
As part of MIM's vision to collaborate with local and international organisations on various subjects, the seminar is being supported by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, having provided speaker Simon Osbourne from the Chair Company Secretaries Forum and resources for this seminar.
"Whatever the causes and their relative contributions to the near collapse of the banking system towards the end of 2008, one thing is clear: it all adds up to a catastrophic failure on the part of companies to apply sound principles of corporate governance; raising serious questions about the effectiveness of boards of directors, shareholders and regulators," said David Wilson, chief executive, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
The conference is being held in co-operation with various organisations, including MIM collaborating partners Air Malta, BoV and Business Today.
This year's sponsors include Finance Malta and the MFSA.
More information about this seminar and application forms are available at www.maltamanagement.com (News and Events section). Application is online.
A certificate of attendance will be awarded to participants.
