Melita reduces internet roaming rates

Melita Mobile said today it had introduced a super-low rate for mobile data usage within the EU, starting from €2.99 per megabyte downloaded without any time limits on usage.

"Wherever they are travelling within the European Union, Melita Mobile customers can check their email, browse their favourite websites, hook-up to Facebook or chat via instant messaging through their 3G mobile phones whilst having the peace of mind of paying the lowest rate possible for roaming mobile data usage. The new roaming data tariff applies to both pay-as-you-go and contract customers," the company said.

It said it also offers Malta's cheapest rates for local mobile data usage, starting from 10 cents per megabyte downloaded without any time limits on usage and charged in chunks of 1 KB.

"We have invested €40 million in our mobile network to offer all Melita Mobile customers a cheaper, simpler and better option for their mobile phone connections and this also includes fast, reliable and the cheapest internet access from mobile phones," said Mr. Daniel Galea, Product Manager for Melita Mobile.
