Unifying national day (2)
In the spirit of finding a common national day for Malta and in view of the way in which matters are conducted in this nation, I hereby propose April Fool's Day as Malta's national holiday.

And brain-washed people still lurk in the darkest of crevices! Yet again immature individuals still take pleasure in trying to ridicule a great man, who although not perfect, like the rest of us, brought us out of the dark ages, giving an opportunity to all Maltese citizens to make it in life, to give dignity to everyone and to make us believe in ourselves. I for one firmly believe that Freedom day was as important (if not more) than Independence day, but yet I still favour 8 September as our national day!

Freedom with a foreign queen as head of state and the British Government shedding all its responsibilities while keeping everything ti had before the so-called independence and even more?
Freedom when even the site of the flag lowering and raising the flags, the independence arena was loaned b y the British Government for the occasion?
Carry on dreaming Gianninu.

Dear Ramon Casha, just because it's your special day doesn't mean that all Malta has to celebrate it.

JJC must realize that it takes a fool to know another. It was Dom Mintoff that chose April Fool's Day to mark the first day when the British defence force left Malta. And when he realized his blunder he decided to commemorate the 'last' day of his contrant which extended their stay by an additional 5 years. Can you believe it, he had the cheek to call it Freedom Day. Envy got him knowwhere - we all know that freedom was achieved on 21September 1964.
