International certification for Golden Harvest

Baker and confectioner Golden Harvest has been awarded the British Retail Consortium Certificate by AIB International Inc.

The certification followed an extensive inspection and evaluation of the company's facilities in San Ġwann. Food safety auditors inspected the company's premises and operation processes which were found to be in conformity with the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 5.

The certificate was issued on the basis of Golden Harvest's food safety and hygiene programme, the HACCP plan procedures and implementation, the pest control programme, its operational methods and personnel practices, its personnel training programme, the maintenance of food safety procedures, a cleaning practices programme and maintenance of documents.

This year, the development and production of ice cream, frozen sundae and milk shake mixes, burger buns and sliced bread both for Burger King and the local and export markets, has also been included in the certification.
