ABELA. On September 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED of St Andrews, aged 68, ex-PC1130 and former proprietor of Belectric, Carini Street, Sta Venera, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Dorothy, née Mifsud, his children Christine and her husband Mark Ebejer, Caroline and her husband Stephen Brincat, Stephen and his wife Lara, his grandchildren Jean, Robert, Matthew and Elise, his brother John and his sister Carmen and their respective families, his mother-in-law Giovanna Mifsud, his in-laws, other relatives and friends.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.15 a.m. for Pembroke parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GALEA. On September 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO of Żejtun, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Frances, his brothers Laurence and his wife Lina, Horace and his wife Maria, Albert and his wife Carmen, his nephews and nieces, among whom the Hon. Mario Galea, Parliamentary Secretary, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Catherine parish church, Żejtun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at St Gregory Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to St Joseph Home and Jesus of Nazareth Institute, both in Żejtun, will be appreciated.

The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

SHIELDS, on September 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, JULIE, of Tarxien, widow of Saviour, aged 72 , passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joe and his wife Sandra, Arthur and his wife Mariella and Rosanne and her husband Jesmond Borg, her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Nick, Jodie, Dylan, Luke and Alexia, her brother and her sister, in-laws, their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Tarxien Cemetery chapel (L-Erwieħ), where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated.

Missing cat

A male ginger and white cat, whose tail was cut off in an accident, went missing about two weeks ago in the whereabouts of Żejtun Road, Tarxien. Anybody having information about it can call 7970 2510/2182 6414. A reward will be paid.
