John Bundy wins 'Bongu' court case
A court today turned down a request for the issue of a warrant of prohibitory injunction against TV presenter John Bundy, a production house and a TV station.
The request had been made by production house DEE Media TV against Mr Bundy, 26th Frame Ltd, and One Productions Ltd, calling on them not to use the word Bongu as part of the name of Mr Bundy's new breakfast show Bongu Bundy, due to start on One TV next month.
The court found against Dee Media, saying that the names of Mr Bundy's programme and that by Dee Media TV were evidently different and would not cause market confusion.

@Marc Curmi
yes indeed; please make your point as to what you are trying to say.
If you want my personal opinion, John Bundy is a person that I highly admire. There aren't a lot of people on this island who have the courage and honesty to criticise his her government. And if you are worrying about John's favourite political party, during an interview with Labour leader Joseph Muscat, John made an open statement that despite his admiration towards Joseph, John will remain with the PN side......without any fear. John is a RAGEL FUQ L-IRGIEL

This whole episode is positive as it shows that we are on the way to becomong politicaly mature.
Well done Mr. Bundy and well done One TV. The past is past.
Let us have more of this and then we can call ourselves Europeans.
Mr. Bundy may I suggest that instead of showing us the CCTV traffic cameras (which do not offer novative information) you should embark on a thorough educational programme on road manners and ethics. Make us laugh at ourselves while teaching us.
Remember the seatbelt , give way and other relative cartoons? THEY WORKED.

how did this even get into court?! One cannot restrict the use of a dictionary word as apart of a trademark, given sufficient context.

As for the writers below they should also know that Mr Bundy will still be at PBS as he will be presenting an everyday radio show in the afternoon.

I personally hate watching TV. The only shows which hooked me were John Bundys' Bongu on TVM and Affari Tuoi when Bonolis presented the latter programme. Whether you like it on not DEE media please be aware that it was John Bundy who attracted the audiences and not the morning show BONGU per se. Just like Bonolis attracts huge audiences on Italian TV stations. Somehow certain people have the power to make you enjoy listening to them and I am sure that many viewers will be watching John Bundy's programme on one TV. Good luck John Bundy and thanks for making a difference to many people's lives. You are an honest ,straight and loveable person. I do not know you personally but I wish I had to honour to know you first hand. Thanks once more.

Excellent news. However I do not agree with one comment. Surveys showed that after John's Departure BONGU's audience went down. No way can someone else put a better job than Bundy. This is as if saying that afternoon without Alfred Zammit would be good. No no... Malta will surely go for Bundy in the morning. I am surely that we will wake up everymorning to say Bongu Bundy!

What,s all the fuss about! I never watch any of the Malta stations as their content is nil when compared with foreign stations. What about TV Licence we are paying? We are not getting any thing in return.

Time will tell ..this is why we can zap. All i can say is that the Bongu show was extremly good even after John's departure hence John faces harsh competition.

Common sense has prevailed this time. Not only because there was no point in prohibiting 26th Frame and Mr Bundy, from using the word Bongu but also due to the fact that the word Bongu is so related to Bundy himself.
P.S. to the other company may I suggest that it’s better that you stop wasting time on these trivial thing and better focus in trying to produce a show. I am sure that without Bundy you’ll be having a hard time.
