A man was charged with stabbing another man twice during an argument in a Ħamrun bar on Sunday.
Enrico Camilleri, 43, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Malcolm Schembri and slightly injuring another man in Liberty Bar in an argument over money.
It apparently all started after one of Mr Camilleri's car windows was broken. Sources said a man went to look for the perpetrator at Revive Bar, in Marsa and then at Boosers Bar in Ħamrun but found nobody and smashed the windows of the establishments, sources said.
The same man then went to Liberty Bar and met someone who owed him money and a fight broke out between the two. During the fight, Mr Schembri was stabbed twice in the upper back and another man, Etienne Vella, was slashed on his arm.
The police found Mr Camilleri at his home in the late evening and he was questioned about the incident.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman granted Mr Camilleri bail against a deposit of €1,500 and a personal guarantee of €3,000. She also ordered him not to go anywhere near Ħamrun or Marsa.
