A 43-year-old man from Luqa, Enrico Camilleri, this morning pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Malcolm Schembri, who he allegedly stabbed twice at the Liberty Football Club in Hamrun yesterday evening.

Mr Schembri suffered injuries to his upper back.

The two had had had an argument over money that was allegedly owed to Mr Camilleri.

Mr Camilleri was also accused of slashing Etienne Vella, slightly injuring him, causing damage to two bars in Marsa, illegally carrying a knife and breaching the public peace.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000 and a deposit of €1,500.
