First picture: Maltese camp on Mt Cho Oyu

It is freezing cold, it is awesome, and it is where no Maltese has been before. This is the first picture sent by the Maltese Challenge 8000 team which is climbing Cho Oyu mountain in the Himalayas. It shows their camp at 6,400 metres.

The team is climbing Cho Oyu ahead of a planned expedition to Mt Everest. The team members are spending the next four weeks on acclimatisation before continuing their trek.

This is the first time that a Maltese team is sleeping at this altitude and none of the team members has as yet reported any major issues of sickness.
