I read with horror the story by Matthew Xuereb (The Sunday Times, September 6) on the confiscation of a sports car belonging to an English couple and its subsequent degradation at the ADT compound.

The attitude of the ADT official that impounded the car was in itself arrogant. Then, when the couple went to pick up the car after paying a fee of €2,000, they found their vehicle severely damaged even though it should have been under the supervision of the authority's officials.

It is evident that theft of parts of the car had also occurred. I leave it to your readers to conclude who could have been responsible.
