Webber: Portsmouth have signed striker Danny Webber on a two-year contract. The 27-year-old former Manchester United forward was a free agent after leaving Sheffield United at the end of last season.
Ramos: Spaniard Juande Ramos has agreed to take over as coach of CSKA Moscow, the former Real Madrid boss said. The 54-year-old Ramos won back-to-back UEFA Cups with Sevilla in 2006-07 and coached Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid last season.
Enke: A mystery infection will force Germany and Hanover 96 keeper Robert Enke to miss the Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen on Sunday. Enke, picked to play in Germany's three remaining World Cup qualifiers, had to pull out two days before the first, against Azerbaijan, suffering from an unknown infection.
Ferdinand: Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand could return from injury in time for tomorrow's trip to Tottenham Hotspur. The England centre-back has been sidelined with a thigh injury since the Community Shield defeat to Chelsea in August.
Sneijder: Wesley Sneijder will be available for Inter this weekend after playing in Holland's 1-0 win over Scotland on Wednesday. The Dutch midfielder was a major doubt after picking up an ankle problem last week but played 77 minutes at Hampden Park on Wednesday night.

Basketball, NBA: Ten-times NBA All Star guard Allen Iverson, currently a free agent, said he was moving to the Memphis Grizzlies. "God chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career," Iverson, 34, said. Memphis newspapers reported this week Iverson had accepted a one-year contract with a $3.5 million salary and a series of incentives. Iverson, the NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2001, played with the Philadelphia 76ers for 10 years before joining the Denver Nuggets and then Detroit.
Athletics: Former Olympic and world champion Stacy Dragila, the pioneer of women's pole vaulting, has retired at the age of 38. "It was great to be a pioneer in the sport and to be the first one to win a gold medal at the Olympics," the American, who won the inaugural women's Olympic title at the 2000 Sydney Games, said. Dragila said she now planned to become involved in coaching.
Rugby Union: England centre Riki Flutey will have an arthroscopy on his left shoulder next Monday. Flutey, who joined French club Brive from London Wasps this year, damaged his shoulder on the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa. The 29-year-old could miss England's tests against Australia, Argentina and New Zealand in November.
Cycling: Ghent-Wevelgem Classic winner Edvald Boasson Hagen has signed for Team Sky, the British outfit said. The promising 22-year-old Norwegian, formerly with Team Columbia, also won the Tour of Benelux and a stage of the Giro d'Italia this season. He is one of 10 international riders to join the new team.
