BALZIA. On September 9, at Karen Grech Hospital, DOLORES, widow of Orenzio, aged 80, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her daughter Marcelle née Xuereb and her husband Edward, Michael and his wife Rita née Farrugia. Her grandchildren Yasmine, Pierre, Bernice, her brothers Leone and Lewis, her sister-in-law Maggie Faure, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital tomorrow at 7.30 a.m. for St Peter's parish church, Birżebbuġa where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BIANCHI. On September 8, at St James Hospital, MAUD, wife of the late Dr Marcel Bianchi, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her dearest children, Dr Louis Bianchi, his wife Henrietta and their son Daniel, Madeleine, her husband Dr John Aquilina and their children Jonathan and Audrey, Veronica, her husband Dr Ramon Rossignaud and their children Vanessa, wife of Dr Matthew Brincat, and Stephanie, her brother Victor Peralta, her in-laws, Loris and Yvonne Bianchi and Sr Veronica Bianchi, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital on Saturday, September 12 at 8.45 a.m. for St Julian's parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m., followed by interment in the family chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family wishes to thank her carers, all the staff at Casa Antonia and at St James Hospital for their loving care and attention. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On September 9, ROSE, née Zarb, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and in the presence of her beloved family. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Michael, her children Johanna and her husband Michael Gonzi, Adriana, Madeleine, Marc and his partner Candace, her grandchildren Hannah, Luisa and Nina, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for Santa Maria ta' l-Anġli church, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CARUANA. On September 8, in Chatham, Canada, Fr JOSEPH M. (Fr Charles), went to meet the Risen Lord. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters, Sr Brigida of the Franciscan Order, Fr Lawrence, SJ, Connie and her husband Paul Grech, Emmanuel and his wife Antoinette, Helen and her husband Lino Gauci Borda, Marion, widow of his brother Paul, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends both in Malta and abroad.The funeral will be taking place in Canada tomorrow. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

YWCA scholarships

YWCA is offering three scholarships in nail technology, fashion and photographic makeup and beauty therapy at the Peach and Sorrel College in Fleur-De-Lys, Birkirkara to women aged between 18 and 30 years.

Sub-post office

The sub-post office at Alessio's Old Cottage, 12, Parish Street, Mqabba will be closed between Monday and September 19, both days included. In the meantime, the public can use the post office at 8, St Catherine Street, Żurrieq.

Ħal Millieri chapel

The chapel of Ħal Millieri will be open on the first Sunday of each month between 9.30 a.m. and noon.
