The water taxi market is warming up to the concept and is bound to change transport culture, especially within the harbour area, according to the Malta Maritime Authority's chief executive officer.

Following the granting of the second licence, Stanley Port-elli said: "The sea has always been one of Malta's prime resources and when it comes to domestic commuting on water, we still need to see the development of a mentality that favours this transport alternative".

More licences are expected to be granted in the near future.
