ZAMMIT TABONA. Treasured memories of RICHARD, a devoted and loving husband and father who went to meet the Risen Lord and our adorable, loving daughter and sister FRANCESCA, one year ago today. Beloved husband and dad, you left a void amongst us since you left. We knew that there was no hope of recovery. We climbed with you, step by step, your sorrowful way to Calvary. You suffered your brave blindness and long-term illness borne with Christian fortitude, in silence, never complaining or raising a fuss, bearing them very bravely for over 43 years. Your extreme "generosity, kindness, faith and love" towards God, Our Lady, us, your families, friends and people you hardly ever knew. Finally, you are home in paradise with Francesca, your loving dad and your uncle, Dr Antoine Mercieca. Rest in peace. Your loving wife and two sons, Andrew and his fiancée Begona and Miguel and his wife Jola and their newly born son Jake whom you just missed for a few months, as it was always your last wish to become a grandfather.

Oral health

Those aged over 40 are being encouraged to pay a visit to the closest health centre on Saturday for a full screening of their mouth on the occasion of World Oral Health Day.

The event, announced by the World Dental Federation and World Health Organisation, coincides with the birth of Charles Godon, the federation's founder.

The event is being organised by the Dental Public Health Division and the Faculty of Dental Surgery to raise awareness of the impact of oral disease and well-being, specifically oral cancer.
