British airline bmibaby has announced that it will operate hundreds of additional flights from East Midlands Airport, to eight European destinations, including Malta.

The airline has based three more aircraft at East Midlands Airport for operations to Sardinia, Barcelona, Corsica, Cork, Croatia, Malta, Newquay and Venice.

An additional 350,000 passengers will fly with the airline from East Midlands Airport in 2010.
