Three divers were rescued yesterday after finding themselves in difficulties while swimming off It-Tieqa in Dwejra, Gozo.

People on the scene said the divers could not get back to shore because of the choppy sea which risked pushing them onto the rocks. Other divers and people on shore managed to hand them a rope and after several attempts they were pulled to shore with difficulty.

An ambulance and rescue team was on the scene.
