Fish show competition

The Malta Aquarist Society (Gozo section) held its annual show at Ninu Cremona Lyceum, Victoria. Fourteen members took part with a total of 23 aquariums and one small pond. A tank containing Black Moscow guppies by Sean Said of Nadur won the first prize.
Two aquariums, the shubunkin tank by Robert Bajada of Sannat and a tank by Joe Cefai of Xewkija placed second. The third prize went to an Oscars aquarium by Charles Pisani of Sannat and a Congo Tetras tank by Fr Gerard Buhagiar of Xagħra.
The President's award went to Leon Muscat with a tank of Blue Dolphin Moorii and to Kristina Scerri with Black Moor goldfish.
A fish-keeping hobby photography competition was also held for members who submitted 87 photos. The most voted photo was a Koi fish by Fr Buhagiar. A Discus taken by Charles Pisani and a Congo tetra by Fr Buhagiar placed second and third respectively.
The winners of a lottery were Chris Farrugia, who won an aquarium, and Sean Said and Leon Muscat, who won €40 and €20 vouchers respectively.
