The waterpolo honours in the junior league competitions were again shared during season 2009.

The Exiles youngsters again dominated the Under 14 championship to win the title for the second year running, while Neptunes reclaimed the Under 16 honours to maintain their record of never missing out on any of the junior titles, including the U-19 knockout, since all the four competitions started being held in 1989.

Sliema were again tops in the older category when winning the third successive Under 19 championship, while also retaining the Under 19 KO after beating Sirens in Wednesday's final. All winners of the junior honours remained unbeaten throughout the season.

This confirms that Sliema, Neptunes and Exiles are still in the forefront with regards to the grooming of youngsters through their nurseries.

It is hoped that other clubs will follow this example, so that competitions will be keener and the destination of honours will be more widespread in the future.
