Malta national coach Sergio Afric will announce his final list of players for the forthcoming European 'B' Championships tomorrow, just before the squad's departure for Switzerland.

Afric has named an initial squad of 15 players for the championships which get underway on Saturday and come to a close on September 13. The players have been training regularly since the ASA season finished two weeks ago.

Malta is in Group B and start on Saturday against hosts Switzerland in the final match of the opening day.

The other teams in Group B are Poland, Georgia, the Netherlands and Great Britain.

Belarus, Denmark, Ukraine, Slovenia, Turkey and France will play in Group A.

Malta will be bidding to win one of the top six places in the championships and a slot in a qualifying tournament for a place among the continent's top teams.

Malta's fixtures

Saturday: vs Switzerland;
Sunday: vs Poland;
Monday vs Georgia;
Tuesday: vs Great Britain;
Wednesday: vs Netherlands.

The quarter-finals will be played on September 11, the semi-finals and positional play-offs on September 12 and the finals on September 13.
