Obituary
CASSANO. On August 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIA VIOLET, 78, of Birkirkara, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Martin and his wife Maris, Christine and her husband Albert, Bernadette and her husband Vince, Sandro and his wife Rose, her brothers and sisters, her husband's brothers and sisters and their families, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for the Birkirkara oratory where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
GRECH. On August 31, at home, DR ALFRED (ex-CGMO), aged 82, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife, Patricia Ann née Borg Cardona, his daughter Sandra and her husband Gerry, his sons Dr Mark and his partner George, Philip and his wife Rita and Dr Kenneth and his wife Anna Maria, his grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Rachel, Benjamin, James, Sean Kenneth, Neil and Dawn. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Imported cars
Drivers who do not register vehicles they import within two weeks will be fined €30 a day come October.
The Malta Transport Authority said no vehicles bearing foreign registration plates could be driven in Malta and urged anyone who had not already registered them to do so as soon as possible.
