Tom Jones performing in Malta in November
Welsh superstar Tom Jones, who has sang classic hits like Sex Bomb and Delilah, will be performing live in Malta on November 15.
Jones will be performing at the MFCC in Ta' Qali as part of his current tour in support of his critically-acclaimed album 24 Hours.
Promotions director of concert organisers NNG, Anton Attard, said: "Tom Jones transcends generations, and research shows he is very popular in Malta. His shows are packed with energy."
With sales of records in excess of 100 million, Jones is known as one of the greatest performers of the last 40 years, and is widely recognised as one of the godfathers of modern soul. His cover of Prince's Kiss gained him a new generation of fans back in 1988.
In his heyday, it had become customary for female fans to throw their underwear at Jones, considered by many as a sex symbol.
His plea to the female fans to stop their concert gestures four years ago seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Only last Friday, the 69-year-old singer saw women throw their underwear at him when he performed in the US.
A ticket pre-sale (€10 discount) for the Malta concert starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. for all those registered on www.nngpromotions.com. Official ticket sales, starting at €35, kick off on Friday.

ITs nice to hear abt the coming of Tom Jones in Malta - ims ure hes worth a visit - but once can never compare the quality sound produced in this coutnry with concerts overseas. An ocean of difference.
Even people's attitude. here generally the high cost tickets are full of complimentary tickets who jsut go becuaseu they got a free ticket and they stay a whole evening seated down beggin for the ones in front them to sit down until they will hear the last encore with the GREEN GRASSS of HOME :)

I say ol'chap Andrew Aguis@ and Whats wrong with the English always whinging may i ask? don't get me wrong but i say its good for the ENGLISH TO MOAN AND WHING, you know why,at least they are honest enough to open their gob/mouth whatever and come out with it face front, unlike some other nationalites don't care to mention right now, who are not whingers but two faced, they just keep it to themselves and say nothing, but i garantee if there is anything to their dislike in Malta they certainly will not return, so at least the ENGLISH we all know there are quite a few of them living in Malta by the sheer amount of flags sticking out on roof tops, they say what they feel and criticize us so we can maybe? improve the situation, i hope you get what i am trying to say, so i say WHING my firends its for the good of the country, however whether you return or not well thats on'e choice but are very welcomed to come back as we badly need the tourists, and without tourists we got no jobs. Whats this got to do with T.Jones anyroad?????????

Good on you Tommy Boy, YOU MUST BE THE OLDEST SWINGER IN TOWN AS THE SONG GOES , Irish song Lyrics and Guitar chords written by Ep. Pickford on Youtube. I will not be going to his show cause its not quite my taste althougt its a pity about the cancellation of the Golden sixties comeback, a couple of weeks back, but i think my wife is certainly looking forward to his show.

@Charlie Debono - why are you lot always whingeing about English whingers? You lost the war, get over it.
Tom Jones/Woodward is 3/4 English too.
For all the (Maltese) whingers, Tom Jones is a great performer and it will be wonderful to see him here. I just don't t hink there's enough dosh in Malta to get U2 over, we are after all about the same size as a large Welsh town.

TOM JONES ... wow .... thankyou whoever had this idea !!!!! This is real music. I'm only young but I love this sort of music.
I don't believe some of you people - it's not your taste in music so you moan and complain!!
Various artists that i don't like have visited our island. I never complained!!
So please if you don't like it, keep it to yourself.
Don't let's be called an ignorant nation with no taste in music, because beleive me that's what some people think when they read certain comments.

@T.L Mizzi & E.Marmara
Unlike Marty Wilde, Helen Shapiro & Paul Anka, Tom Jones is not just an artist of the sixties but of the 70s, the 80s, the 90s & Today; You can't compare him with them; He's probably the biggest name ever to come to Malta after Elton John. And even though he's nearly 70 he can still sing with more power than any 20 year old in the charts today. I've seen him in Vegas years ago and he was the second best live singer I've ever seen after the Big 'O'. I'm really looking forward to see him live again.

Withall that lingerie thrown at you all these years. Do you collect them, Tom? Are they precious to you ?
By now you well know the difference between the sun and women's lingerie. 1. They are both hot 2. They look better while going down. 3. they both disappear by night.
Welcome Tom, from the bottom of my heart Welcome.

To the few who commented about Tom Jones being 'Old', I say this, this man is not just a superstar, he is a LEGEND in the musical world. You can only dream of ever being someone like TOM JONES. The man is a amazing singer. You should be honoured that he is coming to your country. Mind you, probably you wouldn't know one note from another if truth will out.

Have you seen the list of countries on this tour, most of Europe and the USA and here in Malta you have some people moaning because of his age. Come on, even if his music is not to your taste don't knock the fact that he is doing a concert here. Great's like Roger Water's, Mick Jagger, Elton John and Rod Stewart all in their sixties and still rocking.

Excellent move NNG!! Its great that you bring such great artistes to Malta. For those who were
going up to see him at Wembley Arena in October they will save flight costs and Hotel/accomodation in London. With regards to comments that Tom Jones is too old I completely disagree; He is simply vintage getting better with age. I mean you only need to hear his 1999 album Reload; it is sheer proof as to how he managed to reinvent his career for the 2000's.

Not a big fan of Tom Jones but I still admire him a lot. So what if he is old? Age is not a problem. If you are young at heart you will be young forever.
