Decomposed corpse found in the sea

The decomposed body of a man was found in the sea off Birzebbuga yesterday morning, police said.

The corpse, which had a yellow vest and T-shirt but no life jacket, was spotted by a fisherman.

It was retrieved by the Armed Forces in the sea off the Ghar Hassan area and taken to Haywharf.

It is still unclear whether the victim was a would-be illegal immigrant.
