Kim Cassar, 17, will be playing in Bosnia for the next three weeks trying to secure more WTA points following her participation in Sicily's Tre Castagni tournament earlier this month.

In the first round of the $10,000 world ranking event, Cassar beat Lara Rafful, of Brazil, currently ranked no.707, 6-1 6-2. In the last 16, Cassar then lost to the seventh seed Keren Shlomo (no.504), of Israel, in a tight match 3-6 5-7.

Spain's Paola Fondevilla Castro, the top seed and world no.335, won the tournament after beating Nicole Clerico, of Italy, 6-4 7-5.

Cassar's fine showing in Sicily augurs well for the local top tennis player who will now be focusing almost exclusively on senior competitions even though she is eligible to continue playing in junior tournaments until the end of 2010.
