Holders Manchester United will play Wolverhampton Wanderers at home in the third round of the English League Cup after the draw was made today.

United's clash with Wolves is one of five all-Premier-League ties while League One (third division) Leeds United's home draw against Liverpool promises a great atmosphere at Elland Road.

Tottenham Hotspur, runners-up last season and winners in 2007-08, travel to Championship side Preston North End while Chelsea have a home tie against west London neighbours Queen's Park Rangers. Arsenal are at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Port Vale, the only survivors from England's fourth tier, travel to Scunthorpe while Championship side Blackpool, who beat Premier League Wigan Athletic in round two, get another chance to claim a top-flight scalp away to Stoke City.

United, three-times winners of the competition, were given a bye into the third round along with all the other Premier League sides involved in European competitions this season.

Ties will be played in the week beginning September 21.
