I write with reference to the article that appeared in The Times regarding Peppi's catering establishment at Tower Road, Sliema and its permit to place gas cylinders in a nearby area (August 18).

In the article, mayor Niki Dimech said that information regarding the case was requested from the Land Department by the council in March and no answer was supplied. I would like to state that it does not result that the Sliema local council has ever written or contacted the department on this matter.
