The Maltese climbers who will attempt to climb Cho Oyu in the Himalayas, the sixth highest mountain in the world, left for Kathmandu yesterday, taking with them a stock of Duracell premium quality rechargeable batteries to power up their expedition equipment. Duracell is a Platinum Sponsor of the Challenge 8000 expedition.
The Maltese climbers who left for Kathmandu yesterday, in order to attempt to climb the Cho Oyu Mountain, are decked out with all the devices required for this extreme expedition that will see them attempting to break the 8,000 metre elevation barrier, also known as the Death Zone.
Having received a sponsorship from V.J. Salomone Marketing Ltd, Marco Cremona, Gregory Attard and Robert Gatt are well equipped with Duracell Turbo and Supreme rechargeable batteries and cells. The batteries can recharge up to 100 times, making them ideal for professional and frequent use.
John Montanaro, Brand Manager for Duracell, said, "Duracell stands for determination, self-confidence, and reliability - all the qualities that the Challenge 8000 climbers must have in order to attempt this arduous expedition. Duracell is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of Challenge 8000, and to be part of an event of national pride, up there on top of the world with our Maltese climbers."
"With Duracell's commitment on board, the Challenge 8000 team can put their mind at rest that their equipment is powered by the best quality products that ensure longevity for the most power-hungry devices," John Montanaro continued.
The expedition equipment that will be powered by Duracell batteries include devices such as cameras, camcorders, satellite phones, mp3 players, headlamps, foot warmers and expedition boot dryers.
