Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil has filed three libel cases against Labour media for "slanderous and injurious comments".
He said in a statement that the cases were presented against Glenn Bedingfield, the head of One Radio and Television, Kulhadd editor Felix Agius, Orizzont editor Frans Ghirxi, PL general secretary Jason Micallef and PL president Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi.
Dr Busuttil said that while as a public figure he accepted criticism, he was not ready to accept baseless attacks on his integrity.
The issue centres around a room in Valletta Dr Busuttil's law firm Ganado Sammut rented from the government.
The Labour media said that preference had been given to Dr Busuttil. This, he said, was not the case. Important information was left out on purpose, including that there was a public call, that only one room was being rented and that the legal firm had the right of first refusal. It had also submitted the highest bid.
