Bank of Valletta has selected Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 as its new core general ledger application, under an agreement signed with Microsoft Malta.

Working with Microsoft Gold certified partner Crimsonwing Malta, the bank will roll out Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 General Ledger, replacing an existing legacy system and bring dynamic new information management tools to the bank's management and employees.

Microsoft won the project following a rigorous vetting process to land this important contract. The deal was sealed thanks to the overall integration of the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 solution, its ability to address the breadth of the bank's functional needs, its scalable platform that allows for future growth, and user-friendliness through a familiar, intuitive interface similar to Microsoft Office.

"We are very pleased to be working with Microsoft on this project for Bank of Valletta," said James Bonello, Managing Director for Crimsonwing.

"The robust capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics AX, coupled with Crimsonwing's implementation experience will enable BoV to obtain a rapid return on investment as well as support their long-term business goals," Crimsonwing managing director James Bonello said.

The bank's chief officer (finance), Elvia George, explained that the growth and diversification of the bank's business highlighted the need for an integrated central financial repository. The bank was certain the new MS Dynamics AX 2009 would meet the diverse needs of the various users as it provided the flexibility of analysing the financial data according to their requirements as well as having the potential of scalability to meet the demand of future business growth.

"Microsoft Dynamics - in this case AX 2009 - has consistently proved to be the technology of choice for rapidly expanding companies looking to take their business to the next level with a fully integrated enterprise resource planning solution that provides a scalable, extensible platform for future growth. This is surely for Microsoft a significant project in terms of size and strategic importance," Pierre Mallia, Microsoft Malta general manager, said.
