The Middlesea League is already one third of the way into the current season, and leaders okmalta.com showed that they mean business by easily taking all eight points in their week six clash with defending champions Ramis.

Globalair Travel beat Fina 6-2 to replace them in second place, while HSBC improved to fourth place after an easy 8-0 victory against Bank of Valletta. Salitos were also 8-0 winners over PharmaVet and Turu's Knights picked up seven points from their match against The Clan.

Ray Falzon Reale and Mark Spiteri were brought in to bolster okmalta.com's firepower at the beginning of the season. They are leading the team's campaign to halt the Fina-Ramis domination which has characterised the Middlesea League for a number of seasons now.

Against Ramis they won Game One 742-879 and okmalta.com then doubled their advantage with a 767-848 Game Two win. A 218-pin advantage at that stage meant the match was surely theirs, but okmalta.com picked up Game Three 665-793 to make sure of all eight points.

Globalair Travel drew first blood by taking the opener 782-733, but the Fina foursome came back with a 775-881 reply to level it. Unperturbed by their opponents' comeback, Globalair took the deciding third game 835-714 to bag all eight points (series 2,392-2,328).

Standings: okmalta.com 40, Globalair Travel 36, Fina 32, HSBC 28, Ramis 27, Salitos 25, Turu's Knights 17, PharmaVet 16, The Clan 15, Bank of Valletta 4.

Bowlers of the Week: Sue Abela (Fina, 661); Ray Falzon Reale (okmalta.com, 670).
