Of course every society has its scum, but they should be expelled and not lumped by any country. Good for the British Government and authorities who clamped down on the scum running it. As for eu citizens that's what the freedom of movement brings with it. The scum of society moving from one country to another with the countries not being able to expel them and having to lump them because of eu regulations. This is certainly another negative aspect of the eu.

I am not condemning everyone like you said Borg, but I am sensible that Malta being the smallest and most populated country cannot and should not allow foreigners to come and live in Malta and compete with our own workers when we neither have the space nor the work available for our own MALTESE citizens. When shall immigration be stopped, when we start piling everyone on each other and when we shall not even be able to move about?
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe. Thomas Jefferson

IGalea, you say Malta is getting mostly the scum of society. Where is the scum of Malta society? Take a look at London in Soho and see who are running the clip joints and sex shops. There are also a lot of good and honest Maltese living in UK too as is there right as an EU citizen. The two Bulgarian's have been punished and lets hope they have learnt their lesson.

You don't condemn the persons that break the law but you condemn anyone who's not Maltese like you; I feel sorry for you as it seems that you don't know any better;

Foreigners wanted?
Are you out of your mind?
Foreigners vital for our economy?
In our smallest overpopulated island with lack of work for thousands our own citizens?
When shall we start stacking people on top of each other?
What we are mostly getting is the scum of society from other countries.
No wonder we are in such a dire situation with people having such minds and defeatist attitude and playing lackey to foreigners.
Ruby Jenner Because foreigners are taking over OUR country, OUR COUNTRY Ruby, that's why. Malta is not some big country, but one of the smallest most overpopulated country in the world, so why the hell should we allow immigration to Malta?

IGalea is there any particular reason why you dislike foreigner's? Do you ever look beyond what race a person is?

Well saud baz Burton. So much abuse in Malta. The immigrants we have (talking about the illegal immigrants and as such) are given half the wage when they work as hard as us...that is unfair...totally

@lgalea
Just to remind your short memory. Malta voted in favour of entering the EU.
After some years, the majority of people and virtually all political parties are in favour of being in the EU.
Being in the EU means that there is freedom of movement. Hence one cannot say that these people are unwanted......or else.....it means that Maltese people have a very low IQ

@ lgalea
Foreigners are NOT unwanted in Malta, actually, they are pretty much vital to our economy and daily livings. What might be unwanted, is their criminal acts but not their status as a foreigner. It is a pity in such a day and age you maintain such a mentality towards foreigners. If we lived in Medieval Malta, I might understand, but not this day an age. No Sir.
Whether you like it or not this is now a globalized and cosmopolitan world and there isn't much you can to stop that. Malta is changing just like the rest of the world with advent of transport and technology. Foreigners will mix with us just like we mixed with them.
Furthermore Bulgarians are EU citizens and are wanted as much as Maltese are wanted in London or Sophia. Please think twice before you press the submit button.

Crime is crime and not race, nationhood dependent - pay these legally here immigrants a proper wage and they won't need to steal.

Hopefully the police will also check their residence to see if they find any other stolen objects. The recent thefts in Sliema has been going on for quite a while.
