I refer to the correspondence regarding lack of cleanliness and the state of the roads around Triq 1-Alka, St Paul's Bay.

Insofar as cleanliness is concerned, the area in question forms part of the cleansing program for each and every street in the locality.

Unfortunately, with the funds available for cleaning, it is not possible for the council to sweep these (and other streets) on a daily basis. Insofar as the state of the roads in the area is concerned, in the vicinity there are Triq il-Lampuki, Triq ir-Ramel, part of Triq 1-Alka, and Triq Efesu, which need to be made up with tarmac.

Besides that, the pavements of these streets need to be seen to as well.

It is my intention that pending availability of funds, these streets will be seen to during the next financial year.
